Our energized audience is our main inspiration to create content that speaks to them. We have a great Canadian Arab community that deserves to have a voice. Calgary Arabia is a medium through which Canadian Arabs can express themselves, learn about and showcase their arts and cultures, and… well.. listen to the music they love!
Who We Are
Calgary Arabia is Calgary’s Arabic radio show. It is a weekly, 2-hour, live show that showcases Arab art & cultural heritage, and airs live interviews with prominent figures from diverse walks of life in Calgary, Canada, and the world. Calgary Arabia discusses local Canadian & Albertan social, economic & political affairs. The show’s segments are coupled, of course, with carefully selected Arabic music.
Meet the host
Noha grew up filling every second with singing. She was part of her school’s choir for two years at the age of 7 & 8 and was part of their recitals at the Cairo Opera House. She learned how to play the Oud at an early age (and forgot how later) and then the Guitar at 16 and participated in a concert as part of the Talent Development Program at the Cairo Opera House with the most talented and most prominent guitar player in Egypt, Dr. Emad Hamdy. Aside from singing, Noha listens to the radio and to music 24/7; if she does not have her earphones in, something is wrong! Also, Noha expresses herself through writing poems that are mostly contemplative of life as we know it.
Noha takes playtime seriously, she is extremely competitive (thanks to being a Leo) and likes to play tennis, squash, badminton, ping pong … basically anything with a racquet!
Noha is a University of Calgary graduate with a bachelor’s degree. She majored in Marketing, worked in the marketing department in the Dean’s office and was the VP of Marketing at the Alliances in Marketing (AIM) club in the Haskayne School of Business. Basically, she breathes marketing.
If you want to get a hold of Noha, send her an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
